It's been a trend in Saskatoon and now "love locks" are becoming more common in Regina, too.

In recent weeks, about a dozen locks have been added to the fence along the Cameron Street footbridge across Wascana Creek.

The locks, bearing hearts and sweethearts' initials, became popular in Saskatoon when hundreds appeared along the CPR bridge walkway.

The City of Saskatoon said it was akin to vandalizing property and a safety hazard, so it had them cut off the fence.

More have appeared in recent weeks, however.

Lately, the narrow footbridge at Cameron Street has become adorned with padlocks. (Submitted by Liam O'Connor)
