Man, 25, accused of drunk driving in rollover crash that killed 2

A 25-year-old man is facing two charges of impaired driving causing death following a rollover crash Sunday afternoon on the Carry The Kettle First Nation east of Regina.

A 25-year-old man is facing two charges of impaired driving causing death following a rollover crash Sunday afternoon on the Carry The Kettle First Nation east of Regina.

The charges were announced Monday in a news release issued by the File Hills First Nations police service.

The police service said two people were ejected from the vehicle, a Ford 150 SuperCab truck, which had rolled several times.

Cammy Jessica Spencer, 21, of Carry the Kettle and Sterling Byron Hotain, 20, of the Bird Tail Sioux First Nation in Manitoba, died at the scene.

Police said two other passengers were taken to hospital in Indian Head with non-life threatening injuries.

The operator of the vehicle was arrested at the scene, given treatment for minor injuries and also taken to hospital.

That man was was later charged and has made an appearance in court.

Police said further charges are likely and their investigation is continuing.

The Carry the Kettle First Nation is about 80 kilometres east of Regina.
