Man charged with murder on Little Black Bear First Nation

A 37-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder of a woman on the Little Black Bear First Nation.

RCMP responded to calls of an unresponsive woman outside of a home

A 37-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder on the Little Black Bear First Nation.

RCMP were called to a residence Thursday morning where they found an unresponsive woman outside. EMS declared 33-year-old Lauren Quewezance dead at the scene.

Police arrested Sherman Luke Bellegarde, who is also from Little Black Bear. He was known to Quewezance.

Bellegarde made his first court appearance Friday morning. He is due back in court on Dec. 22.

Little Black Bear is located approximately 130 kilometres northeast of Regina.
