Large hail, high winds hit Kindersley, Sask.
Collapsed roof at swimming pool at Canalta Hotel
People in the Kindersley, Sask., area are cleaning up today after their community was hit by hail that was golf-ball sized or even bigger.
Heavy rain and high winds were also being reported in the town and in surrounding west-central communities, including Glidden and Eston. Kindersley is about 200 kilometres southwest of Saskatoon.
Among the damage was a collapsed roof over the swimming pool at Kindersley's Canalta Hotel.
"We had reports of baseball-sized hail. That was actually from just outside of town, but I'm sure they got some pretty large hail inside the community itself also," Environment Canada meteorologist Dan Fulton said.
There were no tornadoes reported, but the straight-line winds were clocked at 95 kilometres an hour at the Kindersley airport.
That has left a number of buildings with damage, as well as many tree limbs to clean up.
Some people in the community of Smiley were reporting baseball-sized hail.
More thunderstorms were moving through the province Monday morning, but according to Environment Canada, the worst of the system was moving into Manitoba.

Winds cause damage in Spiritwood
The town of Spiritwood is busy cleaning up today. Winds of up to 83 kilometres per hour whipped through the community on Sunday. The wind even blew down one of the 'Welcome to Spiritwood' signs.
"Some people lost some shingles and there's quite a few trees down around town. Our public works staff have been working all morning and all afternoon now just removing tree branches from the streets," said Amanda Peters, the town's assistant chief administrative officer.
"I spoke with one of our public works employees who has lived here 30 years and he said that it is the worst storm he has ever witnessed," Peters said.
"The storm lasted close to one hour with lightning, thunder, wind gusts and sheets of rain," said Peters.
The storm also knocked out the power which affected the town's water treatment system, prompting a boil water advisory to be issued in the community. Peters said samples must be cleared by the Water Security Agency before the advisory is lifted, which she said could happen by Friday at the latest.
