Kevin Hart to Regina fans: Tweeting or texting will get you kicked out
Superstar comedian cracks down on cellphones during live shows
Kevin Hart may be one of the top comedians in North America, but he has no sense of humour when it comes to cellphones at his show.
In advance of his show at Regina's Evraz Place next Wednesday, the facility is sending out warnings to ticket holders: Texting, tweeting or talking on cellphones is completely forbidden.
Carrie Hackel, with Evraz Place, confirmed that rule-breakers will be thrown out.
Hackel said more and more artists are demanding a "no cell phone" rule as a condition of performing.
"It's about the integrity of the artistry. For performances like this, once you've heard the material, you've heard it. It's not like a song where you might want to listen to it over and over again," said Hackel.
She also said Kevin Hart's event team will supply extra security to watch out for people tweeting, texting or recording during the show. Evraz security will also be on the lookout.
"It's very much the same policy we had in place for the Russell Peters show," Hackel noted.
Evraz Place is suggesting people turn their phones to "vibrate" and not take them out until the show is over.
