Regina Minor Football will receive a sizeable gift from one of its most notable alumni.

Seattle Seahawks punter and Superbowl Champion Jon Ryan's charity, Gear Up, is donating $75,000 to the youth football league.

The money will be used to buy all-new equipment for the Mighty Mites division, made up of 8 and 9-year-old children. The donation also made it possible to open up the football league to an additional 355 players.

Training camp for the Mites began in early August. The league will play until the end of September.

The cheque will be presented Saturday morning at Leibel Field in Regina.
