They've made it official, Rider Nation.

The Roughriders and Canadian defensive end Ricky Foley have agreed to a contract extension that will keep the 32-year-old out of free agency.

Foley told CBC News just a few weeks ago that fans should expect an announcement of his return "soon."

"All signs point to me being back with the Riders next year, so I'm happy about that," Foley said at the time.

Foley is a three-time Grey Cup champion, including one win with the green and white last year.

He matched a career-high 12 quarterback sacks last season and recorded 54 defensive tackles and he was named the Rider's Most Outstanding Canadian in 2014.

The Riders have not released the details of Foley's contract. He and general manager Brendan Taman will be speaking with the media this afternoon.
