Inquest set for man shot during altercation with Sask. RCMP

An coroner's inquest has been ordered for a man shot dead in 2013 during an altercation with the RCMP in Holdfast, Sask

Gerald Lord, 42, died in 2013 after being shot in Holdfast, Sask.

A coroner's inquest has been ordered for a man shot dead in 2013 during an altercation with the RCMP in Holdfast, Sask.

The public inquest for Gerald Lord, who was 42 when he was fatally shot on Sept. 11, 2013, will be held March 7-11 at the Queen's Bench courthouse in Regina.

The inquest will examine the medical cause of death and the manner of death. The coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future.

Coroner Alma Wiebe of Saskatoon will preside at the inquest.

Holdfast is about 100 kilometres northwest of Regina.
