Is there a building in Saskatchewan that holds a special place in your heart? Regina artist Dana Rogoschewsky may have captured it in one of her paintings.

"When I first started painting these buildings, I realized people really enjoy seeing artwork of familiar places. Places that they can relate to," she said.

Rogoschewsky has painted buildings in Regina like the Milky Way and O'Hanlon's Irish Pub and is currently working on a project to showcase a collection on the Cathedral neighbourhood of the city.

The places that she paints also often have a special meaning for her.

"My focus is on local buildings especially. There is always a story behind these buildings," she said.

"So often people will see them and they will say things like 'Oh, you know I went to O'Hanlon's and I met my husband there' or 'my mom and I always went to Butlers [at Regina Beach] for fish and chips."

Her style was inspired by comic book illustrations and consists of colourful images painted with water colour.

This past weekend, Rogoschewsky sold her artwork at the Cathedral Village Arts Festival street fair.
