Canada Day means a day off for many people in Regina, but for the city, most facilities will remain open.

Among the few places closed today are City Hall, the Neil Balkwill Centre and local community centres, but the land fill will remain open 7 a.m CST to 6 p.m., and garbage and recycling will be picked up as usual, if Wednesday is normally your pick up day.

Here are the hours for the rest of the city's facilities:

  • Regina Transit: Operating on a Sunday schedule (restricted hours).
  • Paratransit: Noon to 10 p.m.
  • Cemeteries: 8 a.m.m to 9 p.m.
  • Leisure Centres: Noon to 6 p.m.
  • Lawson Aquatic Centre and Fieldhouse: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Outdoor Pools: Noon to 8 p.m. (Wascana 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

In addition, parking meters will not need to be plugged downtown.
