Helium plant setting up in Saskatchewan

For the first time in close to half a century, helium will be processed in Saskatchewan.

In April, Weil Group Resources will be opening up a facility near Mankota to process the gas.

The community is close to the U.S. border, about 270 kilometres southwest of Regina.

The provincial government says the company found several wells with helium. 

It means 20 jobs

Aside from balloons, helium is used primarily for MRIs.
