Construction is near the halfway point
For the first time ever, people can see the view from the stands of Regina's new football stadium as construction nears the halfway point.
The construction company overseeing the project provided access to media Thursday as they noted the job was about 40 per cent done.
So far, an estimated 230,000 cubic metres of dirt has been removed from the site.
As well, 2,700 tonnes of reinforcing steel has been been put in place.
The $278-million stadium was announced in July 2012 and is being built on the city's exhibition grounds, known as Evraz Place.
