David Suzuki makes stops in Saskatchewan on Blue Dot Tour
Suzuki will speak in Saskatoon on Sunday night and Regina on Monday
Well-known Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki is in Saskatchewan for his current speaking tour.
The scientist and broadcaster is continuing his campaign on environmental issues with the Blue Dot Tour.
He told CBC News this tour one of the most important things he has done in his career.
"If you have to breathe contaminated air, you're sick. So surely, clean air should be the highest priority in any society for all human beings. And I think what this tour is doing is asking us to get down to our most fundamental needs," he said.
The tour poses questions such as what comes next for planet earth and what lasting changes can be made by Canadians to help the environment?
So far, Suzuki said he's been impressed by the enthusiasm of young people at his talks.
"You know, it's never too late. And I think the younger ones are getting it. They know this is about their entire future and the kind of world they're going to grow up in. So we've got a lot of young people very, very active," he said.
Suzuki is at TCU Place in Saskatoon on Sunday night and the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina on Monday. Both talks start at 7 p.m. CST.
