Wascana Centre Authority has given the green light to begin designing the proposed Conexus Credit Union building on its land in central Regina.

It's planned for the 80,000-square-foot head office to be constructed between Darke Hall and Wascana Drive, off College Avenue.

Design plans for the Conexus building must adhere to Wascana Centre guidelines and the park's 2016 master plan.

City council approved the transfer of land to the University of Regina in August. The university is planning to lease the land to Conexus.

In return, Conexus has promised to donate $8.25 million to the College Avenue campus renewal project. The U of R has been raising money for several years to restore buildings on College Avenue.
