CBC Saskatchewan is teaming up with the Food Banks of Saskatchewan to help feed hungry families this holiday season — and the big Dec. 11 event is now live!

Annual fundraiser invites the public in for refreshments, fun, live broadcasts

CBC Saskatchewan is teaming up with the Food Banks of Saskatchewan to help feed hungry families this holiday season — and the big Dec. 11 event is now live!

That's the 15th annual CBC/Radio-Canada Comfort & Joy campaign, which will take place over one day only — today!

You can make a contribution by clicking on donate or by calling 1-800-567-8008 on Dec.11. 

The public is invited to visit CBC in Regina (2440 Broad St.) for an all-day open house, behind-the-scenes tours of our radio and TV studios, live local programming, exclusive prizes, free coffee, hot chocolate and treats, kids activities and live entertainment throughout the day. (Similar events are planned for Saskatoon in the morning).

Here are the details:

●     Sheila Coles and the Morning Edition team will be doing the show live from the CBC Galleria in Regina from 6-8:30 a.m. CST.

●     Garth Materie, the Blue Sky team and the Afternoon Edition team will be live in the Galleria from 12-1 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.

●     Want to see how we work? There will be behind-the-scenes tours of CBC TV, Radio and online!

●     Live holiday music with Americana artist Eli Barsi and Ben Sures. 

●     The first 100 people through the door get a free limited edition CBC tree ornament.

●     Free hot coffee, tea, hot chocolate and treats from Naked Bean Coffee House.

●     Visit us on site during The Morning Edition and enter to win the CBC New Year's Eve Getaway for Two at the Hotel Saskatchewan that includes, wine, dinner and breakfast (but you have to enter in person at the Open House to qualify).

●     Bring the kids for a meet and greet and story time with CBC Saskatchewan meteorologist Christy Climenhaga. Get hugs from CBC kids mascot Bookaboo and fun holiday crafts and activities.

●     Spin the CBC prize wheel and try your hand at CBC trivia to win fun swag.

●     Parking is free and all are welcome.
