Chris Henderson performs new song inspired by family

Chris Henderson grew up with music all around him. It is no surprise that he decided to quit his job as a highschool English teacher to pursue a musical career.

Country musician's latest song is about visits with his grandmother

Chris Henderson was born and raised in Estevan. He now calls Regina home. (Brent Nielsen )

Chris Henderson has music in his blood.

His father, Donn, was a touring country musician. His brother, Joel, performs as The Poor Nameless Boy.

But it is his drum and piano-playing grandmother who inspired him to write this week's song in the Empty Room series.

"Till It's Just a Memory" is about the visits Chris would have with his grandmother on his lunch breaks.

NEXT WEEK:  We'll check out the Latin vibe of Regina's Andino Suns.
