Bobby Cameron re-elected as Chief of Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations

Bobby Cameron from Witchekan Lake First Nation has been re-elected for his fourth term as chief of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN).

Bobby Cameron from Witchekan Lake First Nation has been re-elected for his fourth term as chief of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN).

Cameron beat Aly Bear from Whitecap Dakota First Nation in the executive election on Thursday with 765 votes against her 258 votes.

David Pratt was also re-elected as first vice-chief. 

Fabian Head is the new third vice-chief.

The FSIN represents over 160,000 people in 74 First Nations across Saskatchewan.

The election comes after Indigenous Services Canada announced earlier this year it would conduct a forensic audit of the organization.
