Regina city council will have a new appearance after next month's municipal election.

At the final meeting of this council's term on Wednesday, Mayor Sandra Masters thanked her colleagues who were not seeking re-election.

They include Ward 1 Coun. Cheryl Stadnichuk, Ward 3 Coun. Andrew Stevens, Ward 5 Coun. John Findura, Ward 6 Coun. Dan LeBlanc and Ward 10 Coun. Landon Mohl.

Ward 4 Coun. Lori Bresciani will not seek re-election for council but will instead face off with Masters in the mayoral race.

That means at least six of the 10 council seats are guaranteed to have new faces after the municipal election.

Ward 2 Coun. Bob Hawkins, Ward 7 Coun. Terina Nelson, Ward 8 Coun. Shanon Zachidniak and Ward 9 Coun. Jason Mancinelli have all confirmed they will see re-election.

The official nomination period for candidates to register will close on Wednesday.
