4 Calgarians to stand trial in Saskatoon slaying

Four Calgary men will stand trial on first-degree murder charges in the 2004 shooting of Saskatoon man.

At a preliminary hearing that wrapped up this week, the four Calgarians — Neil Yakimchuk, Kennith Tingle, Jonathan Dombowsky and Long Luu — were committed to stand trial.

It's a case police have described as a "contract killing" as a result of a drug turf dispute.

On April 15, 2004, Isho Hana, a 34-year-old father of two, was chased down and shot on Preston Avenue in Saskatoon.

The shooting happened in a residential area across from a popular mall.

When he died, Hana was out on bail waiting to stand trial for allegedly selling cocaine, ecstasy and steroids.

At his funeral, Hells Angels bikers in full colours came to pay their respects.

Despite its savagery and profile, the case went cold until last spring when the four men were charged.

The prosecutor expects the formal indictments to be filed at Court of Queen's Bench this spring.
