An 18-month-old girl whose disappearance from Saskatoon prompted police to ask for the public's help finding her has been found safe alongside her father in Alberta, the Saskatoon Police Service said late Friday morning.

"The subject of a missing persons investigation has been located," police said in a release.

On Thursday evening, the Saskatoon Police Service asked for the public's help in finding the 18-month-old.

Police said she was believed to be with her father and that he might be trying to leave the country. Police did not issue an Amber Alert and said they did not believe the girl was in danger.
