Aircraft, boats and an RCMP dog team are searching for two youths who were adrift in the cold waters of Great Slave Lake.

RCMP in the Northwest Territories said three youths were travelling in a boat on Friday near Old Fort Rae when it ran out of gas.

Police said two of the youths put on life jackets and tried to swim to shore but haven't been heard from since.

Police said a search and rescue team has found some clothing belonging to the missing youths near a park.
