The Y's Men are looking for more volunteers for their annual food drive coming up Monday — the biggest food drive of the year for the Upper Room Food Bank.

The food drive has been a tradition for 29 years, with hundreds of volunteers going door-to-door in Charlottetown and Cornwall.

It's also necessary in order to fill shelves before Christmas.

"They are fairly bare. We did have a great Thanksgiving, but you know it doesn't take long for those things to kind of slip away and be given out," said Mike MacDonald, general manager of the food bank.

"So we're in need of this to be successful," he said. "If past years are any indication, you know it certainly will be."

The food bank received more than 40 pallets of food from the drive last year.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the drive can contact Bill Irwin at 902-569-3187.
