UPEI enrolment continues to fall

Enrolment is falling at UPEI, but continues to be propped up somewhat by an increasing numbers of graduate students.

Overall, UPEI full-time enrolment is falling at about the same rate as at other schools across Atlantic Canada, but undergraduate enrolment is falling faster, according to preliminary numbers from the Association of Atlantic Universities.
Graduate enrolment, however, is up 15.5 per cent.
UPEI is traditionally considered an undergraduate school, but now 11.3 per cent of its students are graduates, close to the 11.7 per cent regional average. Last year UPEI graduate enrolment was just 9.7 per cent.
