Ultrasound pictures recovered from used book
A P.E.I. woman who accidentally gave away ultrasound pictures of her baby taken more than a decade ago has them back.
The photos were inside a book Joanna Watts donated to Value Village years ago. She didn't realize she'd left her son's ultrasound pictures between the pages.
"It's something that's irreplacable. My son's now almost 11 years old, and that's not going to happen again," said Watts.
A few weeks ago Irene Pollard found them still inside the book at the thrift store.
"I just thought, 'Oh my soul.' This is terrible. My heart just dropped thinking somebody maybe doesn't even know that they've lost them," said Pollard.
"These are just not something you want to lose. You just don't want them out there. So I thought I have to try to find them."
Pollard put the word out on Facebook, and later that day Watts got her pictures back.
"I took them home that evening and I held them up to the window and let [my son] see and said these are the very first pictures of you," she said.
Watts is very thankful to Pollard and others who helped get the ultrasound pictures back to her.
