RCMP in Prince Edward Island say the drug unit has seized one of the largest batches of marijuana plants in the Island's history and they may have been planted by accident.
On Friday, police say they found 1,250 immature marijuana plants in a farm field in Traveller's Rest.
Police believe the crop had been planted in the field sometime in the past and then went to seed. The seeds were then spread around as the soil was tilled. The plants were dispersed across the field.
Mounties called it an anomaly that shows how an outdoor marijuana grow-op can have unintended results.
RCMP say they will not be releasing the specific location of the field.
