Extensive changes coming inside and out
The P.E.I. government broke ground on a major overhaul of Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside Wednesday.
The $15-million renovation includes a new greenhouse, fixes to a leaky roof, upgrades to plumbing, heating, electrical and ventilation systems, as well as work outside on sports fields and the parking lot.
"It's going to be a new face for the school," said Grade 12 student Lauryn Reeves, who is on the district advisory council.
Three Oaks was built in 1976 and has about 750 students.
The work started Wednesday on the parking lot. The bulk of the renovations will begin in December.
