The Mill in New Glasgow was named the winner of this year's P.E.I. ADAPT Council's Taste Our Island Award.

The award honours restaurants that have gone the extra mile to use and promote local products.

Each year, the council invites restaurant customers to submit nominations for the award.

This year, the nine finalists were:

  • The Kitchen Witch Tea Room, Long River;
  • Eden's Gate, Georgetown;
  • Juice Box Cafe, Montague;
  • The Pearl Eatery, North Rustico;
  • Leonhard's Cafe and Bakery, Charlottetown;
  • Terra Rouge Bistro Marche, Charlottetown;
  • Papa Joe's, Charlottetown;
  • Sim's Oyster bar and Steak House, Charlottetown.

The Mill in New Glasgow was announced the winner during the Fall Flavours event, the Roving Feast, on Friday night.

The restaurant receives a full-page article in the 2016 P.E.I. Island Visitors' Guide for winning the award.
