Restrictions on Sunday shopping will soon be lifted on Prince Edward Island.
A bill to allow Sunday shopping passed third reading Tuesday evening, with speaker Kathleen Casey's vote required to break the tie.
Sunday shopping will now be allowed year round, however merchants will be given the choice of whether to open.
Previously, Sunday openings were only allowed between Victoria Day and Christmas.
The new law is expected to be in place by Christmas.
