Organization looking to have a team for the 2019 Canada Winter Games
Snowboard P.E.I. has hired a new coach to run two new development programs for snowboarding.
President Cathy Morrison says with the hiring, the organization hopes to encourage more snowboarders on P.E.I. to become competitive.
Morrison's son Mark is the only competitive snowboarder on the Island.
"We're looking for new recruits, new athletes. Hopefully we can put together a team for the next Canada Games in 2019. That's our milestone goal," said Morrison.
The new programs are for children ages seven to 12. Both will begin January 9th at Brookvale Provincial Ski Park.
