Sears Canada is closing six of its outlet locations on P.E.I., but the company says the closures may only be temporary.
A spokesperson said P.E.I. is the site of a pilot project for the company. It will use Canada Post to deliver directly to customers' homes, rather than have them pick up their orders at one of the outlets.
Locations in Stratford, Richmond, Morell, Kensington, Crapaud and Parkdale are shutting down. Sears said it will assess the situation in five or six months and the outlets could re-open.
Another outlet in Bloomfield closed earlier this year.
