Anne of Green Gables is being credited for bringing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Prince Edward Island this summer.
William and Kate will be on the Island July 3 and 4 as part of their first official international tour.
The British tabloid The Daily Mail is reporting that Kate is responsible for picking P.E.I. as a destination. The newspaper said she wanted to visit the Island because Anne of Green Gables was her favourite book as a child.
"It is something of a sentimental journey," a source told The Daily Mail.
No details of the couple's itinerary have been released, but the paper said Kate will visit the Anne of Green Gables house as well as other places mentioned in the book.
