Rod Stewart to play in P.E.I. July 9

Rod Stewart, who is considered one of the top-selling musical artists of all time, will be in concert at the Cavendish Beach Event Centre July 9.

Charlottetown-based event planner Whitecap Entertainment made the announcement early Thursday afternoon. 

Tickets go on sale Saturday, Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. They are available at PEI Brewing Company and online.

Stewart is a two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy Living Legend.

He is known for many hit songs including Tonight’s The Night and Maggie May.

"We've always wanted to feature more entertainment in our Cavendish venue and when the opportunity arose to have the legendary Rod Stewart, we felt that the time was right," said Whitecap Entertainment president Jeff Squires in a news release.
