Portage motorcycle crash leaves 1 man dead

A man riding a motorcycle died Tuesday evening and the woman riding with him was seriously injured following an accident in western P.E.I.

The motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection of Highway 2 and the Rafferty Road in Portage at about 8 p.m.

The 54-year-old man driving the motorcycle and his 54-year-old passenger sustained serious injuries and were transported to Prince County Hospital. The woman was later air lifted to Halifax.

The woman driving the car and her two passengers were not hurt.

The cause of the collision is under investigation.
