Woman arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, suspended license

RCMP arrested a 31-year-old woman for driving under the influence of drugs Sunday morning in Bethel, P.E.I.

RCMP arrested a 31-year-old woman for driving under the influence of drugs Sunday morning in Bethel, P.E.I.

Police received a complaint of a woman who was allegedly asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle in the parking lot of the Provincial Addictions Treatment Centre in Mount Herbert, P.E.I.

Police were told she woke up and drove away from the scene.

She was located driving in Bethel, where she was stopped by police and eventually arrested.

The woman failed an evaluation conducted by a drug recognition expert and faces charges of impaired operation by drug and driving while suspended, police said.

She is scheduled to appear in court in June.
