Police seize weapons in Nine Mile Creek
Shotguns, rifles, restricted handguns, cross-bows and ammunition were seized
Queens District RCMP are investigating after they seized a number of weapons from a home in Nine Mile Creek.
Police said they obtained a search warrant after they investigated reports of shots fired in the area.
RCMP believe a man had discharged a gun to scare a dog on his property.
In a news release police said as they were questioning the man about the firearm that was used when they discovered other weapons in the residence. Police say they seized shotguns, rifles, restricted handguns, cross-bows and ammunition. RCMP cited unsafe storage in the release.
"Firearms need to be fully secured and separate and apart from any ammunition in accordance with the law," said Cst. Kim Dudley.
"This provides assurance to the general public in the event that the weapons fall into the wrong hands."
The matter is currently under investigation. No charges have been laid.
