Summerside-Wilmot byelection advance voting starts tomorrow

Advance voting for the provincial byelection in the Summerside-Wilmot riding begins this weekend.

3 chances to vote before election day on Oct. 17

Liberal candidate Chris Palmer, left, PC candidate Brian Ramsay, NDP candidate Scott Gaudet and Green candidate Lynne Lund are all vying for the Summerside-Wilmot seat in the upcoming byelection.

Advance voting for the provincial byelection in the Summerside-Wilmot riding begins this weekend.

Islanders in District 21 can vote Saturday, Oct. 8; Monday, Oct. 10; and Friday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the County Fair Mall in Summerside.

Elections PEI said Friday that the voting process has been streamlined and should take less than five minutes.

Regular voting day is Monday, Oct. 17.

Liberal Chris Palmer, Progressive Conservative Brian Ramsay, New Democrat Scott Gaudet and the Green Party's Lynne Lund are all vying to be the new MLA, after Janice Sherry resigned in August, early in her third term.

Summerside-Wilmot almost switched to the Tories in 2015, with Sherry winning by only 30 votes over Ramsay.
