Love tours of homes decorated for the holidays? Let's take a peek inside a couple of stately Summerside, P.E.I., mansions that are part of fundraising home tours this season.

George and Estelle Dalton

This three-bedroom Summerside home on Notre Dame Street was built as a working-man's house, the Daltons said, but has seen many additions since 1866 and now resembles a spread from Country Living Magazine.

Estelle Dalton chairs the Friends of Eptek Centre, which supports programming at the local museum. She and an army of friends and volunteers decorated the house, which took several days.

"I've always loved Christmas," Estelle Dalton said. "George's mother did too, and she had an open-door policy. Everyone was welcome."

The group gathered moss and branches from the woods to add fresh, aromatic touches, she said.

"I get a lot of my stuff at the dollar store — it's how you put it together," she shared, crediting her talented friends.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care. This soapstone fireplace was moved from the original Lefurgey House nearby, which was the Dalton home from the 1920s through 60s. (Submitted by Eptek Centre)

Comme Chez Vous B&B

Wendell Cameron and André Cormier have opened their Summerside B&B, Comme Chez Vous, for Christmas tour fundraisers for the last decade, so they've amassed a lot of decor items, including two full-size Christmas trees and several smaller versions.

"I do enjoy decorating," said Cameron, adding, "I sometimes go a little over the top."

This year, they've decorated bedrooms in their 1929 craftsman each with a theme of Santa, Frosty the Snowman and mice.

"We've spent a fortune on batteries," joked Cameron.
