A P.E.I. man suffered serious injuries and has been flown to a hospital in Halifax after his car collided with another vehicle near Central Bedeque.

A P.E.I. man suffered serious injuries and has been flown to a hospital in Halifax after his car collided with a pickup truck near Central Bedeque.

Cpl. Nick Doyle, with Prince District RCMP, said the call came in around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

"It was a head-on collision between a truck and a car," he said.

Two people in the truck were sent to hospital with minor injuries. 

Route 1A in Central Bedeque was closed between Hogg Road and Route 171 early Thursday evening because the collision, Doyle said.

That stretch of road was reopened as of Friday morning.

About 20 members of the Kinkora fire department also responded to the multi-vehicle accident along with Island EMS. Highway safety was also on scene.
