RCMP charge P.E.I. man with drug trafficking following home search

RCMP say a 61-year-old man faces drug trafficking charges following a search of a home in the Bedeque area.

Police seized more than 26 grams of cocaine, 1.5 pounds of marijuana and over $3,800

RCMP say a 61-year-old man faces drug trafficking charges following the search of a home in the Bedeque area of P.E.I.

The Prince District Joint Force Operations Unit,which is comprised of RCMP, Summerside and Kensington police members executed a search warrant at the residence on Thursday, according to a media release from the RCMP.

Police said they seized more than 26 grams of cocaine, 1.5 pounds of marijuana and more than $3,800 in cash.

The Summerside Major Crime Unit and the RCMP Police Dog Services assisted Prince District JFO with executing the search warrant, the release said.

The investigation continues and RCMP are asking anyone with more information regarding drug trafficking to call the Prince District JFO Unit at 902-436-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
