2 men arrested after drugs and replica weapon seized in Summerside bust
RCMP say the 920 grams of crystal meth seized equates to more than 10,000 doses

Two people have been arrested after police seized drugs along with a weapon during a bust in Summerside.
On Thursday morning, officers with Prince District Joint Forces Operations searched a home in the city. A 50-year-old man and a 36-year-old man, both from Summerside, were taken into custody.
Police say they seized 249 grams of cocaine, 920 grams of crystal meth, 438 speed/ice pills, 874 hydromorphone pills and 58 unidentified pills. Officers also seized cash and a replica handgun.
"It's a significant seizure. It impacts the drug flow in our communities and hopefully reduces the flow of drugs through our communities," said Shaun Coady, the administration and personnel officer for the L Division RCMP.
Coady highlighted the large amount of crystal meth recovered, noting that the 920 grams seized equates to more than 10,000 doses. "Obviously, pulling that from the communities is significant," he said.
The joint forces operation included officers from Prince District RCMP, P.E.I. RCMP General Investigative Services, Summerside Police Services and Kensington Police Services.
No charges have been laid yet, but Coady said they will be laid in the coming weeks as the investigation continues.
