Surgeries had been delayed by shortage
A new anesthesiologist will start work at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside this month, and that will complete the complement of anesthesiologists at the hospital, says the P.E.I. government.
Surgeries were delayed in Summerside earlier this year because there were not enough anesthesiologists.
Dr. Brenda Keeping will join Dr. Nihat Bhuiyan and Dr. Vandana Vaishnav.
This is Keeping's second stint on the Island. She worked at Charlottetown's Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2001-02.
She had been working at PCH as a locum.
Keeping had been working most recently in Regina.
