Second increase in minimum wage this year
The minimum wage on P.E.I will go up to $11/hour on Saturday.
This is the second increase this year. The wage went up to $10.75/hour on June 1.
Even before the increase, P.E.I. had the highest minimum wage in Atlantic Canada.
- Newfoundland and Labrador: $10.50
- Nova Scotia: $10.70
- New Brunswick: $10.65
The minimum wage is currently above $11 in Alberta, Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Ontario.
There are no current plans for a further minimum wage increase on P.E.I.
