P.E.I. lobster season started Saturday morning
Fisherman are hoping better prices in Nova Scotia mean better prices on the Island
About 1,000 Prince Edward Island lobster fishermen took to the waters early Saturday morning for the start of their season.
The P.E.I. Fishermen's Association (PEIFA) is hopeful lobster fishermen will earn a little more for their catch this year.

P.E.I. Fishermen's Association hopeful for higher lobster prices
Fishermen in southwest Nova Scotia have been getting more than $8 a pound for market-size lobsters so far this season. That's anywhere from $2 to $2.50 more a pound than they were earning at this time last year.
PEIFA's president says the low Canadian dollar and higher international demand should bode well for Canadian lobster this year.
