P.E.I.'s public libraries are partnering with the Department of Education to provide a library card for every kindergarten student in the province.

Library membership forms are being delivered to kindergarten teachers across P.E.I. and library cards will be delivered to schools in early October.

There is no charge for P.E.I. library cards, for students or for anyone else.

The library cards will give the students access to more than just the physical books in the library. Students will also be able to connect to TumbleBooks, an online collection containing more than 250 animated, talking picture books in English and French.

There are also National Geographic videos for kids, a special section of math stories, and a new selection of graphic novels.
