Charlottetown tattoo studio fire injures 1, temporarily closes Kensington Road
Kensington Road was closed for about two hours as crews fought the fire
Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a fire at a tattoo studio on Kensington Road in Charlottetown Thursday morning.
Fire trucks were dispatched to the fire at Extreme Ink Tattoo Studio, which is in a strip mall near the corner of Exhibition Drive at 7 a.m.

—@CBCPEIThe owner of the property was sent to hospital, but fire Chief Randy MacDonald told CBC News the injuries were minor.
The fire was out by 7:45 a.m. Firefighters had to cut a hole in the roof to let the smoke escape. Part of Kensington Road was closed for about two hours, reopening a little after 9 a.m.
Charlottetown fire inspector Winston Bryan said the upper level of the store at ceiling level is completely destroyed into the trusses, while the main store floor sustained heavy smoke and water damage.
The fire didn't spread to other businesses in the strip mall, but some sustained smoke and water damage because the businesses all share an attic.
The adjacent driving school says classrooms and paperwork are not usable now, but driver training in cars will continue. A nail salon that was booked with many appointments had to cancel for the day.
Investigators are working to determine what caused the fire. Bryan said he expects to announce it early next week.
The owner of the plaza praised Charlottetown firefighters for putting the fire out quickly and minimizing damage.
