Firefighters are battling a fire in a triplex on the Upper Meadowbank Road in Clyde River, P.E.I.

The two-storey home, which has three apartments in it, had flames shooting out of the roof when firefighters arrived around 11:45 a.m., said North River Fire Chief Anson Grant.

Seven fire trucks from the North River Fire Department responded, with water assistance from Charlottetown Station Two.

No one was home in the two units that are occupied, Grant said. The third unit is empty.
