'Significant' amount of child pornography seized, Charlottetown man arrested
Man, 55, allegedly seen accessing child pornography on computer at Confederation Centre Public Library
A man who was allegedly spotted looking at child pornography on a computer in a public library has been arrested in Charlottetown.
Police got a complaint from the public Sunday afternoon, about a person accessing and downloading child pornography at the Confederation Centre Public Library.
Deputy Chief Brad MacConnell said officers responded and a short time later arrested a 55-year-old Charlottetown man at a residence.
During a search of the man's home, police found what MacConnell called a "significant" amount of pornographic material.
MacConnell could not speak to the exact amount of items seized, saying it could stem from "hundreds to thousands" of items, but added it was mainly printed material.
The man will face the charges in provincial court.
