P.E.I. company hoping to donate 1,133 kilograms of beef
The Atlantic Beef Products plant in Albany, P.E.I., is making a major contribution to Island food banks as part of the Burger Love campaign, which wraps up Saturday.
The company pledged to donate four ounces of beef for every burger sold on Burger Love day, which was last Saturday, April 23.

The final tally isn't in yet but Atlantic Beef Products president Russ Mallard is hoping more than 10,000 burgers were sold.
"If that is the case we are going to be donating somewhere in the neighbourhood of about 1,133 kilograms of beef to the food banks over the year ahead. So they would like to have amounts that could be distributed throughout the year and not just necessarily in one shot," he said.
