Alanis Morissette will headline the first night of the 2025 Sommo Festival, says the company behind the event.

The food, drink and music festival will run Sept. 13 and 14 in Cavendish on P.E.I.'s North Shore, according to a Monday news release from Whitecap Entertainment.

"Alanis is a legendary Canadian icon and we know that her fans across Atlantic Canada are going to be buzzing with excitement to see her bring her biggest hits to life on stage this September," said Whitecap CEO Ben Murphy in the release.

Morissette is a seven-time Grammy winner and a 15-time Juno winner. She was added to Canada's Walk of Fame in 2005 and was presented with the Billboard Canada Icon Award last year.

"Since the release of Jagged Little Pill in 1995, Alanis has been one of the most influential singer-songwriter-musicians in contemporary music," reads the news release.

"On top of Alanis' entertainment success, she is an avid activist and advocate and is a powerful role model to young female artists everywhere."

Morissette is the second headliner to be named following the announcement in December that Irish singer-songwriter Hozier will perform on the main stage on the second night of the festival.
