Only two candidates are running for the interim leadership of the P.E.I. Progressive Conservative Party.

Party executive and caucus to vote on Oct. 15

Only two candidates are running for the interim leadership of the P.E.I. Progressive Conservative Party.

The deadline to express interest was noon Thursday.

Belfast-Murray River MLA Darlene Compton and Borden-Kinkora MLA Jamie Fox both want the job.

A vote will be held by the party executive and caucus on Oct. 15.

The successful candidate will become the Opposition leader until a new permanent leader is chosen at a convention. Currently the Opposition leader is Steven Myers.

Rob Lantz resigned as the party's leader in September.
